CDIB Capital and Taiwan-based China Development Financial Holdings Corp contributed, along with TLC Capital, Qiming Ventures and Mustang Ventures. Touchmedia CEO Micky Fung and his affiliated companies also took part.Qiming Venture helped Touchmedia initiate its first round of funding three years ago. Gary Rieschel, executive managing director of Qiming Venture, said the investment in Touchmedia performed beyond the company’s original expectations. The new funds will be mainly used to install more interactive media screen systems in the cities where Touchmedia already does business and to develop new markets in second-tier cities in China, according to the company’s statement.Touchmedia will also use some of the funds for R&D and to introduce the third generation interactive media screen system, which has GPS functions.A spokesman of Touchmedia said the company is in talks with more than ten cities, though no agreements have yet been reached.
