Peaches non poteva che scegliere "Kiss Kiss Kiss" brano incluso nel discusso "Double Fantasy" dove la sacerdotessa Yoko si produceva in un orgasmo. Da qui partiamo per introdurre a dovere un importante ritorno discografico. Il 6 febbraio la Astralwerks pubblica infatti "Yes, I'm A Witch" che riconsegna e rinsalda Yoko Ono tra le pagine del dizionario musicale "ideale" alla voce influente. Diciassette brani, co-prodotti da Rob Stevens e dalla stessa Ono, scelti minuziosamente nel suo imponente repertorio (tranne "Cambridge 1969/2007" scritta con l'amato John) per poter essere plasmati e indossati da altrettanti artisti che non hanno mai nascosto l'amore verso l'opera della nippo-americana. Ecco allora Jason Pierce (Spiritualized) strabiliare nella struggente bellezza di "Walking On Thin Ice" (ascoltate e capirete da dove arriva l'ispirazione vocale di Kazu Makino e quella musicale dei Blonde Redhead), i Flaming Lips stravolgere proprio "Cambridge 1969/2007" come ricorda Wayne Coyne ("We took Yoko's primal screams and John's moaning feedback and turned them into a kind of Ornette Colemanesque melody") e Antony alle prese con uno dei brani più belli mai scritti dalla Ono ovverosia "Toyboat" ("I have always been a fan of Yoko Ono. I chose the song from her album 'Season Of Glass'. It is a very brave and elegant song that captures so much grief with an almost child-like innocence"). Val la pena riportare anche la dichiarazione di Craig Armstrong che non nasconde tutta la sua ammirazione: "It was a real honour to work on a track of Yoko Ono's. ‘Shiranakatta’ is one of the most exquisite and tender compositions from her timeless masterpiece". "Yes, I'm A Witch" è un album imperdibile. Per capire. Conoscere. Per non dimenticare. Ad aprile la stessa etichetta darà alle stampe anche la compilazione di remix "Open Your Box".
