Quanti ancora sono disposti a scommettere su un nuovo album di Marilyn Manson? Probabilmente pochi dopo le ultime infelici uscite discografiche. Ma i giochi non sono ancora chiusi. Il 5 giugno arriva infatti il sesto capitolo di una saga che sembra non ammettere discussioni. "Eat Me, Drink Me" è stato registrato nella casa studio dell'artista ad Hollywood insieme al bassista/chitarrista Tim Skold, prodotto dagli stessi e missato da Sean Beavan. Il titolo può far ricondurre ad "Alice Nel Paese Delle Meraviglie" e a temi come l'Eucarestia ma Manson ha dichiarato a riguardo: "That story several years back of the German man who put out an ad that he wanted to be eaten, and the man who ate him. Although I can’t relate to the relationship those two had, I found the story very compelling in a romantic way. I think a lot of people wouldn’t look at it as romantic, but it was to them in some sick way, and it is to me in some sick way, too". Il singolo che anticipa il tutto è "Heart-Shaped Glasses (When The Heart Guides The Hand)" accompagnato da un video in 3D girato dal regista James Cameron che vede protagonisti anche Evan Rachel Wood (nuova fiamma del "reverendo") e alcune SuicideGirls. Nel frattempo un sampler di "If I Was Your Vampire" è ascoltabile sul Myspace dell'artista americano che ha inoltre recentemente presentato il nuovo bassista Rob Holliday (Prodigy) che lo seguirà in tour. Manson è anche al centro delle attenzioni delle riviste di gossip per via della sua nuova relazione proprio con la 19enne Evan Rachel Wood: "She's 19 and certainly that's very young, but that's not a problem for me. She likes the same things as me. She understands I like to get up when night falls and go to sleep at dawn". Questo è l'autentico anno zero!
